Privacy policy
Last updated: October 25, 2026
EasyGuides is a static publication of how-to guides. We keep data collection to the minimum needed to serve the site. This page explains what that means in plain terms.
The short version
- We do not ask you to create an account or sign in.
- We do not run analytics, advertising, or third-party trackers today.
- We set one cookie, and only to remember the choice you make in the cookie banner.
- We do not sell or share personal information, because we do not collect it.
Information we collect
We do not collect names, email addresses, or other personal details through this website. There are no forms, comment sections, or sign-ups. If you email us, we receive the contents of that email and your address, and we use them only to reply and to handle your request.
Like almost all websites, the service that hosts EasyGuides may automatically record standard technical request logs, such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages requested. These logs are handled by our hosting provider for security and reliability. We do not use them to build profiles of visitors.
Cookies
We use a single cookie, named eg_consent, to store your choice in the cookie banner so we do not ask again on every visit. It is not used for tracking. Full details, including how long it lasts, are on the cookie policy page. You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings button in the footer.
The banner also lists an analytics category. Nothing is loaded for it today, so turning it on or off has no effect yet. If we ever add privacy-respecting analytics, it will be off until you allow it, and this policy will be updated first.
Links to other sites
Guides link out to sources such as Wikimedia Commons and to pages that describe licenses and standards. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which we do not control. This policy covers only EasyGuides.
Your choices and rights
Because we do not hold personal data about visitors, there is usually nothing for us to look up, change, or delete. If you have emailed us and want your message removed from our inbox, ask and we will delete it. Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA; to exercise any of them, contact us at the address below.
Children
EasyGuides is a general-interest reference and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the site handles data, we will update this page and the date above before the change takes effect.
